The skill It's a Trap! is an advanced skill for rangers and unlocks at level 50. It grants the ability to put traps in quest areas that steal loot of other players.

Description

In-game description: Being jealous of others enriching themselves, you have learnt sneaky ways to steal some valuables, when people least expect it. Use /use_trp to access your trapper's equipment.

Effect

In-game effect description: Advancing this skill increases the chance to set a trap.

Unlocking the skill grants access to the command "/use_trp". Typing this shows an output like this (prices vary, see Notes):

You can craft trapper's equipment from scrap materials that can be bought for gold.

Traps:

/use_trp tr1
Yellow trap 50 Gold.png
/use_trp tr3
Green trap 70 Gold.png
/use_trp tr4
Blue trap 65 Gold.png
/use_trp tr5
Indigo trap 45 Gold.png
/use_trp tr6
Violet trap 60 Gold.png
/use_trp tr7

Protection:

/use_trp td1

The trap colors shown correspond to a certain castle, the own castle (in this example it was Wolf.pngWolfpack Castle) is not shown.

List of castles with corresponding trap colors:

  • Eagle.pngHighnest: Red trap
  • Wolf.pngWolfpack: Orange trap
  • Deer.pngDeerhorn: Yellow trap
  • Shark.pngSharkteeth: Green trap
  • Dragon.pngDragonscale: Blue trap
  • Moon.pngMoonlight: Indigo trap
  • Potato.pngPotato: Violet trap

After buying a trap it is located in /inv -> Equipment and has a weight of 50. To use it the trap has to be unwrapped and equipped in the offhand weapon slot. Once the trap is equipped the player has to finish a quest and then has a chance to set up the trap. This chance rises with increasing levels of the skill.

After the trap is set up it can be triggered by a player of the castle that the trap works on (eg: Red Trap triggers only for a Highnest player). By doing so, the trap steals a part of the quest loot of that person and gives it to the Ranger that set up the trap. No item is excluded, which means that traps are able to steal not only resources but also recipes and parts.

Notes

Trap prices are inversely proportional to the castle passport prices ranking. Most expensive castle passport price will have the cheapest trap price. Traps price change per rank are in increment of 5g. Minimum price is 40g, and maximum is 70g.
