The Guardian Angel, noted with the symbol 
, is a game mechanic introduced with the May 8th 2018 game update. If a battle around one of the seven castles in the Battle of the Seven Castles is close, this effect may trigger for the defending sentinels. The defend attribute of the sentinel is increased by a huge amount and the player gets a huge amount of gold 
and experience 
. The exact reasons on when the Guardian Angel triggers are not known yet.
